Hello\u00a0Georgia, and\u00a0thank you for inviting me to participate in your lovely blog. It\u2019s such a pleasure to take part and\u00a0discuss books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re very welcome, Luisa, it\u2019s lovely to have you here. <\/em>What book would you like to have written? Hard question!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh my, there are so many! Every time I read a book I\u00a0admire, I wish I could have written it. It especially happens if a phrase is so beautifully written that I\u00a0have to\u00a0go back and appreciate it all over again, or if a book makes me laugh, or if it makes me cry. For that reason, I think I\u2019ll have to choose\u00a0The One Plus One<\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0Jojo\u00a0Moyes. There were many humorous moments, but it\u2019s also a book that made me sob until my chest hurt because I rooted so hard for Jess, the main character. She\u2019s a single mum with two kids, and on a low income.\u00a0She faces\u00a0struggle after\u00a0struggle\u00a0as she\u00a0endeavours\u00a0to make a good life for her little family. When an author makes me love a character enough to cry\u00a0big,\u00a0snotty,\u00a0gulping tears, and then lifts me up with a big, goofy\u00a0smile\u00a0with a happy ending, that\u2019s pure magic.

Have to confess I haven\u2019t read it. Going on the TBR immediately! What book inspires you the most, Luisa?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think I must choose The Sunne in Splendour<\/em> by Sharon Penman. It\u2019s a very long book, and I first read it as a teenager borrowing my stepmother\u2019s incredibly heavy hardback copy. It\u2019s the story of Richard III, whom the author was convinced has been unfairly portrayed as a villain down the centuries. The characters and storyline had me enthralled, I fell in love with Richard\u2019s charming brother Edward, and the impeccable research made me feel immersed in the life and politics of the late fifteenth century. As an example of historical fiction, it\u2019s hard to beat. But the most inspirational aspect for me is that the author lost her original manuscript and had to rewrite the entire book from scratch. What an awesome example of resilience and determination!<\/p>\n\n\n

My most recent book is The Gilded Cage<\/em>, published by Storm Publishing. Here\u2019s the blurb:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luisa lives in South Wales, and takes inspiration from the Welsh countryside, towns, history, and of course its people. Her writing explores the dynamics within relationships, the pressures that mental health issues can exert on people, and how these can be overcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luisa studied Classical Studies at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London. Her previous jobs have included tour guide in an historic house; teacher in both primary and secondary schools; careers adviser; and corporate trainer\/assessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luisa loves using her creativity for crafting and baking, as well as writing historical and contemporary fiction with romantic elements. She and her husband are the proud owners of Gwynnie, a Volkswagen camper van built in 1974, which inspired the story behind Luisa\u2019s first book, Goes Without Saying. <\/em>They have three children, a dog and two cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Becoming an author fulfilled a lifelong ambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
