{"id":3974,"date":"2023-09-24T13:33:30","date_gmt":"2023-09-24T11:33:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.georgiahill.co.uk\/?p=3974"},"modified":"2023-09-24T15:12:58","modified_gmt":"2023-09-24T13:12:58","slug":"kalimera-zakynthos2-holiday-reading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.georgiahill.co.uk\/?p=3974","title":{"rendered":"Kalimera 2: Holiday Reading"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Forever Garden: a sweeping story of love, loss and new beginnings\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen style=\"max-width:100%\" src=\"https:\/\/read.amazon.co.uk\/kp\/card?preview=inline&#038;linkCode=kpd&#038;ref_=k4w_oembed_32Z7geUn6lco0S&#038;asin=B09YNJX7J7&#038;tag=kpembed-20\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As I mentioned in my other blog, on my recent Greek holiday I did little but relax and read.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I loved Rosanna Ley\u2019s&nbsp;<em>The Forever Garden<\/em>, a dual narrative saga&nbsp;set in Italy and Dorset, featuring a sumptuous Arts and Crafts house and garden&nbsp;(although it was a tad discombobulating reading about Italy when in Greece!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also gobbled down Liz Fielding\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Murder in the Roses,&nbsp;<\/em>the first in a new series of cosy crime novels&nbsp;and cannot wait for the next.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MURDER AMONG THE ROSES an utterly gripping cozy murder mystery full of twists (Maybridge Murder Mysteries Book 1)\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen style=\"max-width:100%\" src=\"https:\/\/read.amazon.co.uk\/kp\/card?preview=inline&#038;linkCode=kpd&#038;ref_=k4w_oembed_j0oIDo7lrjd6kv&#038;asin=B0BZJJLRLC&#038;tag=kpembed-20\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But it was an impulse purchase in Tesco just before I left which had me totally captivated. I\u2019ve found a new favourite author! Bloggy Blog readers, please let me introduce you to Syd Moore!<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WITCH HUNT: Step into the past of the Essex witch trials with this bestselling haunting psychological thriller with a historical twist for 2025\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen style=\"max-width:100%\" src=\"https:\/\/read.amazon.co.uk\/kp\/card?preview=inline&#038;linkCode=kpd&#038;ref_=k4w_oembed_fsBL4FaFKWk8ei&#038;asin=1847562698&#038;tag=kpembed-20\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I adored&nbsp;<em>Witch Hunt<\/em>&nbsp;by Essex-based writer Syd Moore. I loved its sassy style, the author\u2019s championing of her much-maligned home county&nbsp;and&nbsp;the disturbing history of the Witchfinder General and his bizarre&nbsp;campaign of violence against women considered witches. I loved the book so much I immediately downloaded&nbsp;<em>The Drowning Pool<\/em>. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-amazon wp-block-embed-amazon\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Witching Hour: The bestselling haunting gothic thriller that you won\u2019t be able to put down for 2025\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"600\" height=\"550\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen style=\"max-width:100%\" src=\"https:\/\/read.amazon.co.uk\/kp\/card?preview=inline&#038;linkCode=kpd&#038;ref_=k4w_oembed_aAV10WQKjYhhUr&#038;asin=1847562663&#038;tag=kpembed-20\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Having finished&nbsp;both, I ignored the pile of paperbacks I\u2019d&nbsp;carted along in my suitcase taking up valuable weight&nbsp;and downloaded the first two in The Essex Witch Museum Mysteries. A capable woman, a sexy academic, some seriously scary witchy stuff,&nbsp;humour&nbsp;and a mystery to solve.
