Have meant to do this for a while now but, guess what, I’m chasing a deadline. Again! I think this post comes under the category of procrastination.
I’ve been on a steep learning curve ever since being published by Harper Impulse back in 2013. The world of publishing was all very new to me. I’m still learning – and making mistakes!
One thing that has amazed me is the amount of people, completely unknown to me, who are prepared to promote my books. They do this in a variety of ways. Some take part in Netgalley, a site where books are sent for review. Some book bloggers take the book on and feature it on their websites. Some book reviewers post on Facebook and share the love that way. Lots are active on Twitter. A few reviewers have since become friends, mostly of the virtual kind but also in real life too. It’s heartening to know that, even in this world of pressured lives and tecchie gadgets to distract, people are still genuinely passionate about books.
It’s very humbling and I want to say a huge THANK YOU!
Harper Impulse, for the release of Christmas Weddings, made a set of gorgeous memes. They featured quotations from some reviewers. Some I know and have thanked already. Most are unknown. I tried tracking a few down on Twitter but it all felt a bit too stalkery (not to mention embarrassing if I got the wrong person!) so I’d like to mention:
Sal’s World of Books
Pippa Ainsworth
The Cosiest Corner
Sara Oxton
Karen Whittard
Bev Humphrey
Joan Hill
Reviewer Lady: Good ‘n’ Ready-y
Laurie Beemer
Nicola Clough
I hope they don’t mind going public. They have my grateful thanks for providing such lovely quotations for Sahina Bibi to use in her gorgeous designs. I’m aware that the risk of naming a few excludes the many others who support me. Not my intention at all. I’m truly grateful to ALL of you out there for your love. Again, my sincere thanks!
Love,
Georgia x
