It’s Strictly Time (again)

The children are back at school, the nights are drawing in, some people keep mentioning Christmas. It can only mean one thing: it must be September! I’m a winter baby and I love autumn so I’m not too down-hearted. The other reason I’m looking forward to pulling the curtains shut and switching on the fire (I’m going to miss my wood burner so much) is Strictly’s back!

The new line up was revealed last month and I was excited to see a) I actually recognized a few of them and b) two of my favourite people are taking part this year. I love the Reverend Richard Coles on Saturday morning on Radio 4 and Susan Calman is a clever and very funny comedian.

My forecast:

First to go out: Simon Rimmer or possibly Aston Merrygold. Not sure how good Simon’s going to be (I predict a bit of dad dancing) and not sure if the JLS and SCD fans overlap.

Tipped to do well: Joe McFadden. He looked pretty good on the intro video.

Biggest surprise: Debbie McGee. Has a background in ballet so might do well.

Pasha’s Partner: I’d like to see him with Alexandra Burke although she might be too tall.

Comic turn: it’s going to be between my faves Richard Cole and Susan Calman. I’m looking forward to the latter’s witty come-backs to criticism from the judges.

Who will be affected by the Strictly Curse?: who knows but it’s always fun to guess!

Winner: Mollie King. Or maybe Alexandra Burke. Or maybe paralympian Jonnie Peacock. No idea. That’s the fun of it all.

Not sure why I bother with any predictions, I’m always wrong! The launch show is Saturday 9th and you can get a flavour of what’s to come here:

Bring it on! Keeeeeeeep dancing!

Love,

Georgia x

Oh, and don’t forget, to fill in the gap between the launch show and the new series beginning,  you can get a bit of Strictly-inspired reading here:
