On Facebook recently, I was tagged to post 2 paragraphs from page 7 of my work in progress. So, here it is. Untitled and only 9,000 in but it’s shaping up. Hopefully, it’ll be Say it with Sequins 4 – and this one has a Regency theme, with maybe a bit of naughty bondage. 50 Shades of Darcy, maybe?!
‘“I can’t move in this high collar,” exclaimed Warren. “It’s too scratchy and I feel a right prat. Alicia,” he asked his wife and fellow dancer, “what do you think?”
“You look just like Mr Darcy,” she purred. “I think it’s all perfect. I adore Jane Austen and I think this Regency midsummer’s eve ball is going to be just gorgeous.” She turned to Carly, standing nearby, awaiting instructions. “What do you think?”
It took Carly by surprise, she wasn’t used to being asked her opinion. “I’m not sure.”
“Of course, she not sure,” growled Jan, the enormous and very scary Russian pro-dancer. “It all stupid.”
Alicia batted her considerable eye-lashes up at him. She was tiny but made of one hundred percent steel. “It’s not stupid. It’ll raise loads of money for Pennies for Pencils.”
“What does the charity do, anyway?” asked Carly. Of all the pro-dancers, she liked Alicia best.
“It organises educational projects, here and abroad. Especially in those countries where girls’ education is neglected.”
The Russian a snort.
Alicia stared up at Jan. “I take it you’re not sympathetic to the cause?”
“I here to dance. That all.”
“Obviously,” Alicia said tartly. ‘
